An **Endpoint** is a data source or destination (but not both) for a single data type (i.e. Eligibility). Each **Endpoint** is connected to and syncs with the Flume Data Model (FDM) via a unique map & transformation configuration.

- **Source Endpoints** are transformed from their source format to the Flume Canonical Model Format
- **Destination** **Endpoints** include transformations from the Flume Canonical Model Format to the Destination Endpoint's native format

Each **Endpoint** can sync with the FDM via its own unique transmission protocol (SFTP, API, Event Stream, or other) and on its own schedule.
