Business Objects & Instances
Business Objects allow users to dynamically filter on dataset attributes and apply connections to specific filtered subsets. This is useful for situations where an integration is created for a specific grouping of data elements but not all.
A common use case is point solution activation for specific employer groups.
For example adding SmithRx PBM to the employer named "Dunder Mifflin". In this case SmithRx PBM would only transact data relevant to Dunder Mifflin (i.e. eligibility, accumulators, and claims)
When creating a Business Object, a user picks the field within a data type that will be sorted for and grouped by uniqueness.
Examples include:
- Employer Groups - Select Eligibility and Claims records with matching group_id
- Lines of Business - Select Eligibility and Claims records with matching group_block_of_business_id
- Location - Select Eligibility records with specific group_id and state
Unique instances of business objects (i.e. data groupings that match within the business object filter criteria) are called Business Object Instances (BOI).
Examples:
- “Dunder Mifflin” for all Eligibility and Claim records where group-id = 12345
- “Intellicorp” for all Eligibility and Claim records where group-id = 23648
Once Business Objects are configured, users can assign specific Connections to individual Business Object Instances (BOIs) and also toggle on/off Relays associated with that BOI to further control which data types are traded.
